Tuesday Tours- Jupiter Island modern beach house

In honor of my sunshine filled winter break in Florida, I'm focusing on Florida style this week!
This house Featured in Architecturezine in Jupiter Island, Florida was designed by hughes umbanhowar architects

I love the design and functionality of this modern beach house.  It is made of 3 main materials used each for a purpose, glass for views and light in the living area, aluminum that "enlivens the entertaining space" and sand/stucco for the sleeping area creating privacy and softer light. The lap pool is situated on the rooftop for privacy, shelter from the ocean breeze and serves a second very cool purpose of acting as a skylight through the glass pool floor.
